Sometimes We Lose Our Way

SINS AND SACRIFICES is the life changing journey of Christine Rutherford, who has been married to her husband, Deacon Charles Rutherford, for five years. In the beginning of their marriage things couldn't have been better; Charles was an attentive, loving and sensitive husband. In the blink of an eye, Charles suddenly became inattentive and borderline verbally and mentally abusive. Christine, suspecting adultery, seeks the support of her attractive, widowed pastor, Reverend Conrad Baxter.

SINS and SACRIFICES is a story of redemption. Although I found the manner is which Charles dealt with these issues to be controlling and self-centered, it also enhanced the story. Christine is slightly self-absorbed, yet it was endearing because the reader can sense her frustration and disappointment in her failing marriage. In Christine, Nusum has created a poignant and unforgettable character and I am anxiously awaiting the sequel. This novel is a very moving tale of unconditional love and forgiveness.
